ever taken woodshop

La, la, la.....this was back in the long ago highschool days. I decided to take woodshop back then because I certainly wasn't taking home ick, I mean, well it was ick to me. I was the only girl in the class of course and these are a few of the things I made.

The nice little dolphins got given away to my boyfriend at the time's parents. The wolf and the box are still with me.

So the wolf is made out of several different types of wood. It is a thing called intarsia (spelling?). It wasn't done very well because there are a lot of gaps between the pieces. The dolphins are made out of black walnut and white pine. Gives it a good contrast. And the box. I drove myself insane making that bloody box. It is also made of black walnut and white pine. Each one of those little shapes had to be individually cut and laid onto the base box in the frame work.

I've wanted to try making similar things again but my band saw crapped out. We have yet to get a new one.
